Don’t Cry Over Spilled MILK

I saw the new Gus Van Sant movie last night, I appreciate it for what it was.

Notes:

Sean Penn’s character development was superb.

Josh Brolin deserves an Oscar for best Supporting Actor.

I liked that they did not try to pass off the assassination as a hate crime, it wasn’t.

James Franco is annoying.

I think the producers forced the “were are they now” elements at the end, it thoroughly degraded the film.

I am impressed at the representation of heathen gay culture in San Fransico with a temperate hand for commercial success.

I would NOT have voted for Harvey Milk.

Moving on.

Where the HELL where those political minds during the marriage elections across the country?  Too wrapped up in Obama.  Why didn’t anyone have the foresight to see what happens when uneducated voters go out to vote?  Why didn’t the civil rights leaders use the Obama “change” campaign to stop the induction of restictive ammendments into the various constitutions across the country?

I am seriously irritated at the irresponsible actions of the Obama campaign.  When all of those supporters rallied for Obama’s cause why did they not use Obama’s successful platform to eductate voters on the other issues?  Everyone was too worried about getting the junior senator into office thinking that this man is God and will save the country.

Assume nothing.  People are sheep.  Change must be lead.  People are more apt to stay in a comfort zone untill you show them the other options.  Let’s not forget that it was NORMAL that woman could not vote until 1920.  Voting was defined as a MAN’s job.  It took Susan to educate the people that change was needed.

Lest anyone misconstrue my poltical stance on this issue.  I do not support marraige being defined by the government.  Gay or Straight.  Being married is a cultural and religous institution.  The government should not be in the business of granting people rights, but rather providing them protection from the repeal of those rights.  If you want to be married, call yourself married.  Because the word marriage is so hotly debated, why not just get rid of it in the government?  I can grant the same rights to anyone I want with a few simple forms, Power of Attorney, LLC, Partnership, et cetera.

Let the church decide who is considered “married.”  If you don’t like a churches stance, then why belong to that church.

I’m done.
